VIDEO ANNOTATIONS : This video is 53 seconds long. It portrays my passion for music as a way of escaping reality. I have experimented with sound and a variety of frames and angles. The white noise in the background along with the voices puts the viewer in an uncomfortable state, which follows and only increases throughout the video. I really like the fact that through the added sound on the montage the viewer is still able to hear the cutting of the vegetables and the wind outside, representing their connection to reality, among the craziness and chaos in their head. The discomfort grows until it all stops when music starts playing. This sudden shift creates contrast between the two states, simultaneously surviving as a point of release of that tension. I have used natural light to highlight this mundane routine. In the future I would like to experiment with more locations, camera movements and light.
